Gym wardrobe
The gym is where fit is tested under load. Squat-proof knits, a waistband that stays put and a top you never think about — that is the whole checklist.
Squat-proof or nothing
Under a heavy set, thin knit stretches and goes sheer. Dense nylon-based fabric with a high-rise band is the safe default for lifting.
Sets make it easier
A matching set removes the decision before an early session and photographs consistently — useful if you track progress or post training content.
Keeping the kit new
- Wash cold, inside out, without fabric softener.
- Air dry — heat kills elastane and with it the fit.
- Rotate pairs so the elastic recovers between sessions.

Questions on this topic
How do I know leggings are squat-proof?
Squat deeply in front of a mirror and look at the seat under stretch. If skin tone shows through, the knit is too thin for your size or for lifting.
Should gym leggings be compressive?
Moderate compression supports the muscles and holds shape. Very high compression can feel restrictive after about 40 minutes.
